Lessons

Wilton teaches saxophone lessons online and locally to a diverse group of talented music students in Charleston, SC.

Teaching privately since 1998, he now offers saxophone, piano, and music theory lessons using Skype video conferencing technology.

Here are a few testimonials from Elder’s students about their Skype lessons…

“Your patience with Harrison & willingness to use the technology of Skype has made the reality of Harrison having music lessons a possibly.”

I am writing to say how grateful I am that you have taken my son Harrison on as a saxophone student as we live in rural/remote Australia finding music teachers is always a challenge. Harrison has been taking lessons with you now for most of 2011, he looks forward to the weekly lessons and has improved enormously. You have helped him improve in so many areas, his music reading and theory skills, his overall technique. I am always impressed with your ability, to communicate, encourage and give Harrison the confidence to get the best out of his music lessons.

Your patience with Harrison & willingness to use the technology of Skype has made the reality of Harrison having music lessons a possibly.

So thank you Wilton for helping a young man achieve his goal of learning a musical instrument and for making music fun. We look forward to working with you in 2012.

“We have continued with the lessons due to Skype’s ease of use…”

Wilton Elder tutors our son Josh Talsma for Alto Saxophone. While we lived in Charleston SC Josh got to have lessons in person for a year until we moved to Texas. Wilton is fabulous with Josh! Josh has taken all that he learned from Wilton and performed extremely well at the All Region Band this year. Wilton goes above and beyond teaching the kids not only the basics of the saxophone but also helps to advance Josh’s level of music knowledge and scales.

When we moved to Texas, Josh was disappointed he wasn’t going to be able to learn from Mr. Wilton anymore. Fortunately using Skype for internet/video lessons, Josh has been excited about practicing again! Josh is confident to know Wilton is there if and when he needs help. We have continued with the lessons due to Skype’s ease of use and Wilton’s commitment to helping Josh become a better musician.
